Commissions

I create custom watercolor illustrations of homes, bars, restaurants, and meaningful spots based on your photos, painted by hand.

How it works

A simple, considered process — from first chat to the moment the painting arrives at your door.

1

Say hello

Tell me about the subject, the size you'd like, and any reference photos.

2

Sketch & approve

I send a pencil sketch and a small palette swatch. You give notes; I refine until it feels right.

3

Paint by hand

Watercolor and ink on archival paper. Most pieces take 2–4 weeks of layered, slow work.

Ship to you

Carefully packaged and mailed flat with corrugated backing.

What I love to paint

A few of the things I'll happily say yes to. If your idea isn't here, send it anyway.

Storefronts & homes

The shop on the corner, the house you grew up in, the wedding venue. Architecture rendered with warmth.

Landmarks & cityscapes

City halls, capitols, beloved blocks — places that feel like a reminder of home.

Pub watercolor illustration

Bars & Restaurants

A bar where you first met your spouse, a restaurant where you celebrated a milestone, the small scenes that become a lasting memory.

Frequently asked

How long does a commission take?
Most pieces take 2–4 weeks from the sketch approval. Larger pieces or holiday-season requests can take 4–6 weeks — I'll always give you an honest timeline upfront.
What reference photos do you need?
Bright, clear photos in natural light are best. For buildings, a straight-on photo plus any small details you love (a window box, a sign, the door color).
Do you ship internationally?
Not at this time, but stay tuned.
Can I order prints of a commissioned piece?
Absolutely. If you'd like me include archival prints for you, I can quote those alongside the original.
What's the deposit and payment schedule?
A 50% deposit holds your spot in the queue and covers the sketch round — you can pay it securely with a card right here on the site via Square. The remaining 50% is invoiced through Square before the original ships. All sales are final once the sketch is approved.
Do you take rush orders?
Sometimes — it depends on what's already on the easel. A rush surcharge of 20% applies for turnaround under two weeks. Reach out and I'll let you know what's possible.

Start your commission

Tell me what you'd like painted. When you click Pay deposit you'll be sent securely to Square to pay 50% — that locks in your slot. The remaining 50% is invoiced before the original ships. I reply to every commission within a few business days.

Orientation

After your deposit lands, I'll email you to collect 3–5 reference photos — no need to send them yet.
